Enchanting Thane Creek- Part 2

Nature is wonderful! Yes it may sound as a cliche, but it is. Sometimes it allows you open-heartedly into its enormous treasure, some other time it'll shy away or rudely turns you back. One has to be patient, take a step back, wait and allow It to come to you. Believe me, what an experience it will be then. Here I'm once again on a date with wonderful Nature. The place, as enchanting as it was last time, has shrunken a bit. The spread of 'civilization' encroaching in 'inch-by-inch'.  I allowed myself some indulgence this time. The pace was more relaxed, the movements were more controlled, the excitement under check and instead of trying to 'do it in', I tried to 'take it in'. I was rewarded for my patience and could get closer than last time.  As a famous quote says "More knowledge brings you closer to ignorance", my ignorance was revealed and I was left wanting while recognizing all that I saw. Hopefully I'll c

Musing: Children's Day 2017

This little poem I wrote for my eight years old, for a recitation in school on the occasion of birth anniversary of Pt. Jawahar Lal Nehru (popularly known as Chacha Nehru among kids). This day of 14'Nov is celebrated in India as children's day. Happy Children's Day   I met Chacha Nehru, though it was in my dream, I was initially afraid, but he was not so mean. He smiled at me, and pat me, on my little back, Then took out a red rose, from underneath his sack. He looked calm, and contended, and very much at peace, He helped me to come around, and sat me on his knees. I asked him, with dare, what he thinks of his India now, With dirt, dust, and rubbish spread, in every place and how? People fighting among themselves, for cast, religion and faiths, With accidents, and attacks, daily causing many deaths. He smiled again and took, my hand in his hand, He said "My little child, this is our motherland”.

Enchanting Thane Creek - Part-1

The Thane Creek, which separate two seas of humanity known as Mumbai and Thane, and is situated near my current pigeon hole in one of them, has always been my favorite place for refreshing morning walks. On some of my ventures out there, I trailed off from the set path and sheepishly crossed the borders between 'civilization' and 'enchantment'. Every visit offers some new spectacles. It is really something to witness the otherwise same sunrise unfolding differently everyday on these patches. One can also see the sign of struggle between 'us' and 'them' (We muggles against the magical community of nature).  Our arrogance vs their resolve. Our killing attitude vs their survival. Our encroachments vs their powerless defenses. Our  Complications vs their simplicity. This photo-log is to document one of many such encounters, which I felt while in the area, always wondering 'How much of it will still be there on my next visit?' Thi

The begining

Hi there, I've never been a blogger.  A small correction, 'I've never been a serial and serious blogger'. I have written some posts and some logs on some social sites but not very frequently or consistently. In the past I relied too much on bound to fail brain cells for too many details of life. But over time when it became difficult, tending to impossible, to remember the name of the hotels on last vacation and the tourist spot that enthralled me on last tour, even started finding it difficult to correlate names and faces of some old acquaintance, I decided to act.  Most of my previous posts socially have been about travel, travel and travel. This is what I dream about almost all the time. Sometimes I start planning my next vacations while I'm on a vacation. One might wonder why this title "The Pensieve" . Harry potter fans do not need any explanation, for others, the link: Pensieve - Harry Potter Wiki . I've always been a fan
